The Wheeling Park District and Community Consolidated School District #21 are seeking sponsors for the upcoming Family Learning Program Benefit Golf Outing. With the support and generosity of the local business community, we are hoping to raise over $10,000 for the Family Learning Program.
The Family Learning Program provides educational life skills to parents of second language families in School District #21 while their children enjoy supervised recreation activities provided by the Wheeling Park District. All proceeds go directly to the Family Learning Program partnership between Community Consolidated School District 21 and the Wheeling Park District. This year the funds raised from the first FLP Golf Outing in August 2010 have helped support:
- 80 nights of classes for parents and children at the Harper Northeast Campus on Wolf Road
- 50 Middle School trips to the Wheeling Park District's Community Recreation Center after school
- 40 nights of classes for parents and children in District 21 schools
- Summer Celebration Pool Party (600 attendees)
- Annual ECDEC Celebration (1000+ attendees)
- Fall and spring middle school soccer program
Please help us continue to expand this award-winning program by playing a round of golf at Traditions at Chevy Chase Country Club. Join us for a fun day and a great cause!
The Family Learning Program Benefit Golf Outing will take place on Tuesday, August 9, 2011. The shotgun start at noon will signal the beginning of 18 holes of golf on the award-winning Traditions at Chevy Chase Golf Course. Cocktails and dinner will follow golf.
